In 2006 I underwent major bowel surgery. My large colon was removed and as a result I had to wear a bag.

Although well prepared and supported for this operation once I got home I started to realise that there was a major problem; the major problem was not my body but my underwear!

I literally had to bin 99% of my sexy, classy and chic lingerie. Although comfortable with my ileostomy bag no woman wants to see it sticking up or popping out!

Truly I was dumbfounded because, after years of working in the fashion industry, I always thought there was clothing for everyone and every time.

How wrong was I ?

To put it bluntly, I was not prepared to compromise my femininity for a lifetime of ‘Bridget Jones’ fuddy-duddy knickers. I may have lost my large intestine but I have not lost my sexiness.
